The citizens of the EU are entitled to use Italian hospitals services if they have brought the E111 or E1287 form with them from their home country. It covers students in case of illness

abroad and is valid for a maximum of one year. However, a health insurance policy is highly recommendable.

The ASL (Azienda Sanitaria Locale) provides health services for foreigners. You have to go to the ASL Office, via Giacomo Cusmano n.24 (tel. 091 7032381/7032373) with your E111 or E128 form and your identity card; this will allow you to choose a doctor for the time of your stay.
